NetPMD Design & Integration have done it again! Yet another project from our extensive program is launched in the first live neighbourhood of Placentia, California.

The City of Placentia, whose name is derived from the Latin meaning ‘pleasant place to live’, is home to more than 51,000 residents, who, despite being brought up to speed with a new transport system, were still held back by a lack of modern and future proof digital infrastructure.

In close collaboration with SiFi Networks, NetPMD provided the FTTX fiber design plus HLD/LLD network design and full project management, which facilitates the delivery of the whole solution as ready for service. We supplied optical back-haul connectivity from city to regional DC, IP networking for data centre and customer connectivity, street cabinet installation and the delivery of high-speed (XGSPON) internet to customer end points. Our experts were required to conduct site surveys, verify equipment, as well as pre-stage configuration and in the field installation, and integration.
This multi-disciplinary project presented challenges of varying complexity: flood, earthquake, fire, and severe weather are just a few of the natural hazards of concern in the design stage for the City of Placentia and the NetPMD Design & Integration teams.

Mike Mason, CEO, NetPMD said “Over 20,000 homes and businesses will benefit from this revolutionary superfast fiber network, increasing opportunities and supporting the city’s economic development. We are excited now to see Placentia reap the rewards of our work as the first neighbourhood goes live and I’m exceptionally proud of our contribution”.
