Rolling out a revolutionary 10 Gig enabled fiber city-wide network to connect over 150,000 people in the City of Rockford, Illinois, USA

Working in partnership with SiFi Networks, this project demanded the navigation of extreme weather risks such as tornados, snowstorms, and flooding events, plus extensive historic architecture, to create a digitally futureproof, smart city-enabled open access network.

NetPMD Design & Integration supplied end-to-end services from design through to delivering the active network elements within the city, including integration of components such as data centers, network aggregation shelters, and streetside cabinets. This extensive fiber-optic infrastructure investment brings some of the fastest residential speeds available in the United States, generating huge digital transformation for the city’s residents and the local aerospace, healthcare, and automotive industries.
