Field Services and
Field Data Collection

We help collect and interpret field data including existing utilities, feasibility of construction methods, and other present field conditions in order to avoid design conflicts while aligning with jurisdictional records.

A design is only as good as the field data behind it. When existing utilities are missed, construction methods are assumed rather than confirmed, or field conditions do not match the records, the gap does not stay hidden. It surfaces later as a design conflict, a permit revision, or a crew standing down in front of an obstruction that was never on the drawing.

NetPMD’s field services collect and interpret real field data through physical walk out or in car camera technology, so your design reflects what is actually in the ground and on the poles before a crew ever mobilizes.

Why field data decides buildability

Every downstream problem in a fiber build can usually be traced to something that was not known, or not confirmed, at the field stage. Outdated pole data, incomplete crossing details, an existing utility that was not located, a construction method that is not feasible on that stretch of route. Each one is cheap to catch in the field and expensive to discover later.

Good field services close that gap. They confirm what is really there, test whether the intended approach will work, and align the design with the jurisdiction’s own records before it goes anywhere near a permit reviewer or a construction crew.

How NetPMD delivers

Our field teams collect and interpret the data that keeps a design honest: existing utilities, the feasibility of proposed construction methods, and the present field conditions along the route. We use that data to flag design conflicts early and to align the design with jurisdictional records, so what gets submitted and built matches reality.

Because field services sit at the front of NetPMD’s end-to-end model, that data flows straight into design, drafting, and permitting rather than being gathered once and lost. It is the groundwork that makes right-first-time delivery possible everywhere downstream.

What field services with NetPMD cover

  • Field data collection along aerial and underground routes
  • Location and assessment of existing utilities to avoid conflicts
  • Feasibility assessment of proposed construction methods
  • Documentation of present field conditions
  • Alignment of field findings with jurisdictional records
  • Early identification of design conflicts before they reach permitting or construction
  • Field data prepared for direct use by design, drafting, and permitting teams

Where it fits

Field services feed the drawings produced by Permit Drafting and the applications handled by Permit Management, and set the design up to be built cleanly under Construction Management and As-builts. It is the first stage of NetPMD’s end-to-end fiber delivery.
